Do you know suggest?(出示词卡suggest,然后出示词条what do you suggest?)
Today we are going to learn Module 8 Discussion Unit 1 What do you suggest?(板书,M8 U1 What do you suggest?)
【注意事项】这是属于我们揭示课题的部分了。在这里,我们有个小纠结,就是这个Module 8 Discussion的大标题,要不要解释一下呢?Discussion不是本节课要掌握的单词,在单词表里也是没有的。所以我们认为省略不讲或许会好些,虽然这样子不完整。
I want to buy a present for my friend Lily.What do you suggest?Who try?(请学生回答)
S1:可能回答某个名词,如dress.
T:Good idea!A dress.
【注意事项】这里开始是非常重要的,如果这里引导的不到位,可能造成学生后来的迷茫和困惑。我的第一节课时这样引导的:
You can say what about a dress?Together!(出示词条,what about...生齐读)
第二节课经Ms Wang指导了一下,改成这样:
A dress?A good idea!挺好的,但是我们这样给人家建议么?裙子!多不礼貌呀。给别人建议时,我们也要注意委婉,礼貌。你可以说“What about a dress?”然后学生就懂得了这个道理,在接下来让学生回答What do you suggest时,很多学生都能回答上来了。

I think a dress is great.I will buy a dress for my friend Lily.She will be excited.Do you konw excited?(出示excited,完了以后还请了个学生上去画了个excited的表情,学生非常喜欢。相信他们很容易就能记住这个单词)
My friend will be excited.Do you remember our friend Daming? He is excited,too.Why?Listen.(点读到目标句:I'm very excited,Sam.I'm going to go to America in the summer.)
【我们的小纠结】由于时间问题,还有本节课的内容较多,很难设置问题,要么太大,要么太小,只好这样设置,并且让学生有针对性地听,而不是一下子就整体感知课文了。于是生词quickly就因为针对性、指向性问题带过去了,只是在后面listen and repeat时候加了个手势进去。

(巡场,指点。发现学生的预习工作做得挺好的。大部分学生都能很快找出建议的句子但请学生回答的时候,学生犯难了,原来是不会读。)

Why don't you give him a kite?出示Why don't you,板书give him a kite,齐读。你为什么不给他个风筝呢?How did Daming say?大明是怎么说的?That's a good idea! 将其板书。
