7、有一种力量叫感动

　　A kind of strength is called affection

　　11月7日上午，在《姑苏晚报》的牵线搭桥下，苏州外国语学校师生家长一行25人再次走进北川羌族自治县甘溪小学，为这里的孩子送上195双鞋子、200双袜子、200套蜡笔、80件外套以及6万元助学金。这是继去年苏州外国语学校与北川羌族自治县甘溪小学结成手拉手友好学校以来的又一次进川活动。本次同行的不仅有苏外的学生、家长代表，还有一位来自韩国的海外学生，以及一位年逾七旬的美籍华裔教师。苏州高新区教育文体局顾彩亚局长及两位处长，也一同前往。

　　On July 7, with the contacting of Gusu Evening News, 25 students and teachers from SFLS, as well as some parents went to visit Ganxi Primary School，Bei Chuan Qiangzu Autonomous County，Sichuan Province. They donated 195 pairs of shoes，200 pairs of socks，200 sets of crayon，80 coats and aid fund for 60,000 Yuan. This was the second time to go to Sichuan since SFLS and Ganxi Primary School became Hand-in-Hand Friendly schools. Besides the student，and parent representatives，there was also one foreign student from South Korea， and one Chinese-American teacher aging over 70. Gu Caiya, director of SND Bureau of Education, Culture and Sport and another two section chiefs also participated in this activity.

　　8、中英学生共登世遗舞台

　　The British and Chinese Students’ Model World Heritage Convention

　　10月27日，第二十八届世界遗产大会的盛况又在苏州外国语学校的报告厅上演了。由来自英国巴斯地区5所高中(King Edward’s school，Writhlington School，Beechen Cliff School，Hayesfield School，St Gregory’s School)的44名学生与来自苏州、扬州地区5所高中(苏州外国语学校、新区一中、星海中学、苏中园区校和扬州大学附属中学)的50名学生共同举行的中英学生模拟世界遗产大会隆重举行。他们就英国的达尔文故居、史多尔哈德庄园、格拉士坦博瑞的音乐节等，以及中国的京杭大运河、苏州古镇、楼兰古城、太湖等著名地区作为申遗项目，进行陈述和答辩。苏州高新区教育文体局副局长尤文亮，亚太世界遗产培训与研讨中心苏州分中心主任周苏宁，中英合作项目总监Richard，苏州外国语学校校长曹伦华出席了大会。

　　On October 27， the 28th Model World Heritage Convention was held in the Hall of SFLS. 44 students from five British schools including King Edward’s school，Writhlington School，Beechen Cliff School，Hayesfield School，St Gregory’s School and 50 students from 5 schools in Suzhou and Yangzhou including SFLS, No.1 Middle School of Suzhou New District，Xinghai Middle School，Suzhou High School-SIP，High School Affiliated to Yangzhou University attended the British and Chinese Students’ Model World Heritage Convention held in SFLS， They state and defend with heritage projects of the Darwin’s Home, Stourhead House and Garden，Glastonbury Music Festival, Jing-Hang Grand Canal，Suzhou Ancient Town, Loulan Ancient Town and Taihu Lake. Mr. You Wenliang，Deputy director of SND Education，Culture and Sport Bureau，Mr.Richard， the Chief of UK-China World Heritage Cooperative and Cao Lunhua，Principal of SFLS attended this convention.
