The Most Important Ten Major Events of SFLS in 2011

　　1、英语教学改革掀起“头脑风暴” 全国知名外国语学校苏外论道

　　The English Teaching reform brought change in mind， and teachers from many famous foreign language schools in China brain stormed at SFLS.

　　4月28日—30日，第四届跨文化背景下的当代英语教学研讨会在苏外举行，来自20多个省市，近两百所学校的500多名代表参加了此次研讨会。来自国内外知名学校的优秀英语教师向大家展示了16堂精彩的教学观摩课，共同探讨新时代下英语教学改革等一系列前沿问题。

　　From April 28 to April 30，the 4th Cross Culture Contemporary English Teaching Methodology Conference was held at SFLS. 500 representatives from about 100 schools in 20 provinces attended this conference. Many outstanding English teachers from famous schools home and abroad exhibited 16 wonderful demonstration classes and conferred in a series of important problems about the contemporary English teaching reform.

　　2、我校中、高考、国际课程考试再创佳绩

　　More achievements were made in the Chinese Senior High School Entrance Exam，College Entrance Exam，and International Tests for Foreign Universities in 2011.

　　中考：2011年中考成绩已经揭晓，我校年级均分比去年又提高7分，达637分。高分端以上人数比上届增加55%，680分以上人数比上届增加了33%。直升班均分高达670分。

　　The Senior High School Entrance Exam:

　　The results of 2011Senior High School Entrance Exam were released. The average score was improved to 637 which were 7 points higher than that of last year. The high score winners was increased by55%. The number of students whose scores were more than 680 was increased by 33%. The average score to the direct entry class was improved to 670 from our junior high graduates.

　　高考：理科王肖佑同学以404分的好成绩获理科新区状元，以429(含附加分)的高分被清华大学录取。曹家豪同学以413分的高分，被北京大学录取。文科的虞毅超同学以386分的好成绩斩获新区文科亚军。我校英才班的学生本二以上达线率为100%，英才班本一率达70.4%;全年级本二达线率达88.6%，本一达线率为54.43%，名列苏州市前茅。语数外总均分和各学科均取得优异成绩。

　　College Entrance Exam in China:

　　In the science category, Wang Xiaoyou was No. 1 in SND with a score of 404 and was admitted by Tsinghua University with an adjusted score of 429. Cao Jiahao was admitted by Peking University with a score of 413. In the arts category, Yu Yichao won the second place in SND with a score of 386. For our students in the Elite Classes，the passing rate to the second rate Universities was100% and the passing rate to the first rate Universities was 70.4%. For all our graduating seniors to the second class Universities was 88.6% and to the first rate Universities was 54.43%，which was one of the best in Suzhou. The average score of Chinese，Math and English was also tops in Suzhou.

　　国际课程考试：苏外高中国际课程班再创新高!国际部毕业生100%被欧美名校录取：美国方向——埃默里大学、南加州大学等;英国方向——帝国理工学院、圣安德鲁斯、巴斯等;加拿大方向——麦吉尔大学等;2011届CIE高三，雅思6.5分率为92%，7分率54%，7.5分率21%，全班雅思均分6.91分。宋舟姣和江欣怡同学在AS考试荣获中国区总分第二和第三名;李霞同学兼考AP，首考AP四科即斩获全部5分(满分)。2012届CIE班，袁天宇同学在AS考试中获中国区数学单科第一，AS考试2A通过率80%，3A及以上通过率高达56%，其中熊歆等3人更是荣获5A等级。苏外国际教育正朝着更强大、更高远、更精品的方向发展着!

　　International Tests for foreign universities:

　　Students in the Senior High School’s International program have achieved records. 100% of the international department students were admitted by famous universities in Europe，Canada and the USA. It includes Emory University and the University of Southern California in the USA; Imperial College，St Andrews University and University of Bath in Britain, and it includes McGill University in Canada. In the Current CIE Grade 3 of the Senior High School in 2011，the rate of IELTS score over 6.5 was 92%，and the rate of IELTS score over 7 was 54%. The rate of IELTS score over 7.5 was 21%. The average was 6.91. In 2010，our students Song Zhoujiao and Jiang Xinyi won the second and third place respectively in the AS level tests of all students in China mainland. Li Xia took the AP test in Spring，2011 and got 5 A’s which was the highest. In the 2012th CIE graduating class，Yuan Tianyu won the first place in math in all China. The rate of getting 2A was 80% and the rate of getting 3A was 56%. Xiong Xin and another two students got 5A. The Education program in the international department has become stronger and is heading forward an even better and more exquisite level of achievement.
