2011南外小升初备考之:历年南外试题收集与分析(2)
09年的测试卷,“异国风情”部分考查了学生的跨文化交际能力,给出6篇短文,分别介绍了英国的篝火节、意大利的美食、新西兰的kiwi鸟、夏威夷岛屿等。——选材非常的好,是引导综合性阅读的正确方向。
做个对比就明白是怎么回事了。

My name is Alice Green. I'm an American girl. I'm thirteen. I have two brothers. One is Jack, the other is Tom. We go to school five days a week. We stay at home on Saturdays and Sundays. 要不就是:Ben 是一名来自美国的学生,他今年十二岁了,他讲英语,但是他不会说汉语。他有个妹妹叫Mary, 今年7岁,在二1班。Ben在我们六3班。我们俩是好朋友。他教我学习英语,我教他学习汉语,放学后我们一起在操场上踢足球。

语言学习的根本目的是运用。抛开南外摇号考试的争议,可以说南外小升初英文测试卷的命题方向是对的,确实有很好的导向性。
——问题是,目前小学(也包括中学)的英文教学一如既往地注重语法语言点的反复操练,和英语这门外语在日常生活和学习中的实际运用是没有多大关系的。

02年最难的一道数学思维题:
A basketball is 49 yuan. Li Lei has two 20-yuan notes, three 10-yuan notes, two 5-yuan notes, three 2-yuan notes and three 1-yuan notes. How many ways can Li Lei pay 49 yuan?
(一个篮球要49元。李雷有两张20元的钞票,三张10元的钞票,两张5元的钞票,三张2元的钞票和三张1元的钞票。问李雷有多少种方法付49元?)
03年最难的一道题目:
I have as many brothers as sisters, but each of my brothers has twice the number of sisters as brothers. How many children in my family?
(我的兄弟姐妹一样多,但是我的每个兄弟的姐妹数是兄弟数的两倍。问我家一共有多少个孩子?)
翻译成中文,大部分学生做这样的数学思维题并不困难。英文老师做了个试验:让一位五年级的数学较好的学生做了02年最难的数学思维题(中文版本),五年级学生做出来了;再让一位六年级数学较好的学生做同样的题目(英文版本),不会做。很显然,能够在有限的时间内读懂用英文描述的数学思维题目对于学生是不容易的。所以参加测试的学生会说:英语数学题难!
从上面两道测试题也可以看出,英语数学题并没有出现想像中的数学方面的专业词汇,即便有生词也是用中文标注意思的。所以,让学生大量背诵诸如:十进制、小数点、一次方程、二次方程、周期性、无穷大、极限、积分、微积分、钝角、函数、有理数、射线、勾股定理、概率、排列组合等等数学术语徒劳无益,也根本用不着。
只是简单的英语描述,参加测试的学生为什么会觉得英语数学题难?——最根本的原因在于,我们的学生一直以来所学的英语都是围绕词句默写和语法要点的讲解操练为中心的。超出了学校英文教材和教学模式范围的语言内容,学生很难有直接的英语思维理解能力,所以会看不懂题目~
还有就是思维习惯的问题了。
