One morning Tom leaves his house with sixdonkeys (驴) to go to the market. After atime, he gets tired (疲劳) and gets on to one of them. Hecounts the donkeys, and there are only five, so he gets off and goes to lookfor the sixth. He looks and looks but does not find it, so he goes back to thedonkeys and counts them again. This time there are six, so he gets on to one ofthem again and they all begin.
After a few minutes he counts the donkeysagain, and again there are only five! While (当)he is counting again, a friend of his passes by, and Tom says to him, “I leavemy house with six donkeys; then I have five; then I have six again; and now Ihave only five! Look! One, two, three, four, five.” “But, Tom,” says hisfriend, “You are sitting on a donkey, too! That is the sixth! And you are theseventh!”
