　　英语注重考查语法基础和阅读，题量大，很多学生反映做不完题目。单选题考察的知识点很全面，纵横字谜的部分难度很高。常识融入在考题之中，需要孩子有大的词汇量和很宽的知识面。

　　知识点解析：

　　1、in， on， to表示方位时的区别是什么？

　　（1）in 表示方位，含义是“在……之内”，表示包含关系。

　　China is in the east of Asia.中国在亚洲东部。

　　（2）on 表示方位，含义是“在……端/边”两个地方只是相邻或接壤，却互不管辖。

　　Guangdong Province is on the southeast of Guangxi.广东省在广西的东南边。

　　（3）to 表示方位，含义是“在……面”，不接壤或者两个地方相隔较远，且有湖泊、大海等区域相隔时，通常用 to.

　　Japan is to the east of China.日本在中国的东面。

　　简而言之：in表示一个包含另一个，on表示两地接壤，to表示两地不接壤。

　　2、much too 和 too much的区别是什么？

　　1、too much+名词：“太多……（+不可数名词）”

　　2、much too+形容词：“太……，也……”

　　Passage 1

　　How much sleep do we need？ We are all different. Some people need only three hours of sleep a night. Others need ten hours of sleep a night. Most Americans sleep an average of seven to eight hours a night. After age fifty， the average sleep time goes down to 6. 5 hours a night.

　　Most people have a bad night when they cannot fall asleep. The name of this problem is called insomnia.

　　This is not a new problem. Many famous people in history had insomnia. Some of these people had special ideas to make them sleep. Benjamin Franklin， the famous statesman (政治家) and inventor， had four beds. He moved from one to another to fall asleep.
